Alamerica Bank Names Kent Mcgriff Chief
Financial Officer
Birmingham – W. Kent McGriff was named Chief Financial Officer of Alamerica
Bank, one of the area’s leading financial institutions. This announcement was
made by Lawrence R. Tate, President and CEO of Alamerica Bank. Tate said “Kent
is an important component in Alamerica Bank’s success. This promotion is a
result of his thoughtful, caring and professional leadership”.
As Chief Financial Officer, McGriff will be responsible for accounting, internal
and external reporting, budgeting and planning for Alamerica Bank, Alamerica
BancCorp Holding Company and Alamerica Mortgage Corp. He joined Alamerica Bank
in May 2004 as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Before coming
to Alamerica, McGriff served as Chief Financial Officer for 16 years at another
local financial institution.
McGriff is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he
received a B.S. degree in Accounting. He is married to Marianne who teaches at
Bluff Park Elementary School and has two children, Katie, a senior at Smith
College in Massachusetts and Alex, a sophomore at Hoover High School.
